Halloween Border

Hi! Nice to be back.
I worked on this thinking I'd post it earlier, but... no such luck.
I used different clip art and fonts Nose Bleed and Plasma Drip.
It's all 'glued' together as a .png. For the 'H' and 'N' I used parts of a fence that resembled those letters.

This is a .png file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Enjoy!

School Days Bus

Hi! I started out thinking of putting the bus as a border and making it a strong accent. Then I hit a shadow style and that's what it ended up to be. You can use it on a 8.5x11 page or a 12x12" page, it's pretty big.
I hope you like it!

1st Day of school Border

I know, I know. I've been gone a long time. Things are a bit crazy at home, just getting back to normal. If anyone can give me the definition of "normal." (chuckle)
Some places have just now gone back to school after the Labor day holiday here in the US. However, here in Utah we've been back for at least a week, regular schools, and maybe more for charter schools.
In any case, I decided to do this simple border, just to get back in the swing of designing digital stuff for the blog.
I didn't do much, mind you, just used fonts Niederwald, Poster Bodoni and Potassium Scandal. I didn't even make a sample, I just didn't like the way it looked with anything I had, so hopefully you'll have something different. Maybe mask it with a school paper you might have. I did want to add something extra, so I turned the original into a thick border, and that's the second version you see here.
This freebie is for personal use, .png file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Hopefully you'll be able to use it.
Patricia.

In the Kitchen Border

Hi!
I started it out with the shape of the kitchen utensils. Then added 'In the Kitchen' using font Ransom Note. Then I merged both layers (Ctrl + E).
But I didn't like it all so black, so I applied a stroke style to the whole thing, with a size 10 stroke, and then turned it green. It looks better, and you can use it on top of a whole page, if you want to. :o)
This freebie is about 6x11", .png file, 300 dpi, no shadows. And you can use any other style you have available. You get both: original and enhanced.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

At the Beach Border

I was going to do the phrase with the pictures carved out like I've done before, then I decided to use clip art and make it more interesting. This was designed as a border, but you can use it in different ways (t-shirt comes to mind).
I used fonts Rockwell Extra bold, Flavors and Scrap Cursive.
With 'Beach' I used a picture and masked it over the letters (Control + G). With 'At' I used a pattern (sand) over the letters. I carved 'the' in Scrap Cursive out of the letter B.

I hope this freebie is useful to you for a fun layout, it's 300 dpi, .png file, and has some shadows.
Enjoy!
Patricia.
PS: At the last minute I made a change. I had 'Beach' all look the same and had the surfboards behind the 'B.' But I didn't like it, so I erased the original H and put the surfboards there and crossed them with the shape of a lizard, then I just applied a style on the lizard, and voila! done. I hope you like it. :o)

Birdcages + Bird

Hi! I thought that it would be useful for you to have these two cages, and the bird. So here we go.
I only used a couple of shapes I have, nothing fancy, then added two different styles. The bird I left black.
These are PU freebies, 300 dpi, .png files, some shadows.
Enjoy!

Gotcha! day

For those of you who have been through an adoption, a Gotcha! day is the day where you finalize the adoption process. Since we as a family went through such a day some years ago, I wanted to do something to share with anyone else that has gone or is going through it right now.
I used Ravie font, replaced the center of the 'o' with a heart and the hole in the 'a' with a kids' head, a shape from Photoshop. Each one has a similar style, colored in blue and pink.
This PU freebie is about 2x12", .png file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Suggestion: use the 'o' with the heart as a little frame for your bundle of joy. This was designed as a border.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Water Frame

Hello!
Seriously, I've been working on this water style and I really like it, so I've used it on a round stain-like image I had. See if you like it.
This frame is 8x8", 300 dpi, .png file.
So, whaddaya think? Awesome, right?
Hope you can use it!
Patricia.
PS: I hope you're having an absolutely outstanding summer! :o)

Summer Oval

Hi! I wanted to use this cute graphic. It came as a long rectangle, so I used the elliptical marquee tool and re-shaped it. I also wanted to have the clouds come out of the 'frame,' and since the graphic came in layers I was able to keep the whole cloud and move it to the side a bit (rule of 3's I guess).
Then I added the phrase SUMMER using Machauer font and added a somewhat clear style to it. The word was also pushed out of bounds. The 'definition' was done using font Loosie Script.
Your file will have the graphic with the definition and an extra one, without it, so you can add anything to your design. How'bout that?
This PU freebie is a .png file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
I hope you're enjoying your summer. I certainly am! :o)

America Borders

I felt bad that I haven't been posting much lately, so I worked on these two borders. Actually, one is a different version of the other.
I used font Taco Salad for both. The first version has a bevel style applied to it, and I added the flag as a mask. You can use it as a border or accent on any page.
The other one I just turned white, and it looks striking on a white page. I just wanted it to have the look of those pages you see sometimes, where the accent (letter, shape, anything) is white and in contrast with a bright or patterned background.
They are about 2x12", .png files, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Happy Independence day!
Patricia.

America Phrase

I know, I know, long time. Summer's hard to beat. Too much to do, too many things to do, too much to see.
I played with this phrase for a while, I even made the styles you see on the letters.
Even though "Land of the" and "Home of the" can't be seen with the tan background, they can be seen on any other kind. :)
I used fonts Goudy Stout and HaloHandletter.
I hope you can use it. This freebie is about 3x5", 300 dpi, .png file, some shadows.
Have a great 4th of July here in the States, and a great rest of the week for all others!
Patricia.

Pool Time!

This one I just love!
I've spent some time creating this cool, gorgeous alpha. I'm almost there. Here's the way it looks with the style applied to it.
This is about 4x8", 300 dpi, .png file, some shadows.
Enjoy!

Sun Kissed

I'm sure you're loving these wonderful summer times, unless you're at the other side of the world, where's winter. This phrase should warm up your spirits. :)
I used fonts Ace Crickey and Alex Brush. With SUN I just used a common shape that comes with Photoshop and took some out of it, so you can see the sun rays, then applied a yellow-orange style. To the word 'kissed' I only added the water style I'm working on. Still not sure I like it enough to have it out; I might still tweak it a bit. And that's it.
This freebie is a .png file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Have fun!
Patricia.

Beach QP

Hello! I hope you had a great Father's day weekend.
Today's freebie reminds me of summer: sand, umbrella, chair, water, waves, sunglasses.
The background is close to a 12x12" page, just slightly smaller, so you can fit another paper under it, or just color the background with a gradient or one color 'paper.' I have a cool water style, so I applied it to the wave and frame.
Every element you see is in its own layer, except the sunglasses and frame, which are merged.
This freebie is a .psd file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Enjoy your summer!
I'm working on a water-type alpha and I'll link it to this and other posts I've done. It will not be a freebie. :o)

BABY Phrase

I loved working on this phrase. I just used font Goudy Stout and the usual shapes that come with Photoshop.
You do the usual: type the phrase, duplicate (just to keep the original, so you know what font you used). Then rasterize the type, so you can work with it. Bring shapes individually and erase parts from the BABY phrase and parts from the shape layer.
Merge everything together, or you can keep an original in a .psd file.
I used a style that looks like glitter both in blue and pink, and that's that.
You get a .png file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Baby Stickers

Hello there! I know, I've been missing in action.
Here I have a few stickers for a baby themed layout.
This is a .psd file meaning every element is in its own layer, 300 dpi, no shadows.
I hope you can use them!
Patricia.

On Goodness

I found this phrase and wanted to do something with it.
I used a shape and put a glitter style on it. I typed the phrase using fonts The Only Exception and Tempus Sans ITC.
This is a .png file, 300 dpi, about 3x6", no shadows.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Coolest Dad Polaroid

I hope you had a great weekend.
To prepare for Father's day coming up I worked on this polaroid frame. I just made a 6x6" white square, then took out the inside square a bit off to the right side. Then I got a cool shape: sunglasses, and positioned it on top of the white square. Then I removed from the frame what I wanted to be seen on it, the majority of the sunglasses. When I had what I wanted I clicked on both layers and did Control + E and merged the layers.
I then used font Stamp Act and wrote "Coolest Dad" vertically, and "Ever!" horizontally. Because they were not in the same layer, I merged them and then merged them to the polaroid, then I rasterized the font, or I can't do anything with it. I then used the Magic Wand to select all the letters (click on a letter, then click Select: Similar) and Control + X.
You get the two stylized polaroids I made, plus the blank original, so you can use any style you have on your computer.
You get a .psd file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Father Phrase

Well, since I didn't have a post for Memorial Day, I decided to combine it with Father's day.
Fathers, just like mothers, wear many hats. One of them could be a military helmet, if he's served at any point in his life. However, if that's not the case, you don't have to use it in your layout. This design is in layers, as many others I've done, and the helmet is one of them.
I used Blackoak Std font, and used some shapes to define fathers: car keys, a wrench, a laptop, love, a tie (if he wears one), and last but not least, a flower, if he's already gone.
You get both the black and white (clear) and the styled design.
This is a .psd file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
I hope it's useful. :)

Tagore Quote

Hello! I hope you had a good weekend. Here we had Memorial day weekend, which made it nice to spend outdoors or having fun with the family.
This is a quote from Rabindranath Tagore, a wise man that lived at the beginning of the last century.
I used fonts Bickley Script and Bell.
Enjoy!

Sunglasses Mask

I've been, first of all, busy and second, on a mask mood lately. So here's another one.
There are 4 layers in this .psd file, and all you do is add a picture, any picture.
You can change the look of the glasses by using different styles. The sample in the picture was also added to the .psd file, it's the bottom layer.
This is a .psd file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Have fun!
Patricia.

Graduation Frame & Mask

I made this considering that graduation is coming up quick. It's the usual polaroid frame. The only thing I changed was the bottom, replaced the wide bottom with the phrase 'graduation.' I used font Nose Bleed.
The file comes as a .psd, which means you get all the layers and you can add your own picture. What you do is load your picture and place it where it says 'place picture under here,' that way you get it right. Then click on your picture layer and do Ctrl + G and your mask is done. Then save the file with a new name and close your original without saving.
This is a .psd file, 300 dpi, 5x5",  no shadows.
Have fun!
Patricia.

Striped Mask

Hi! I hope you had a great Mother's day here in the USA. It was wonderful!
I did a little bit of work on this, not much. I saw this effect on the cover of a movie's DVD and thought 'I can do that!,' so I did. :)
Just had an 8x8" square open in a 9x9" document and started to stripe it and shuffle the layers until it looked like this.
I then added a picture, put it as the top layer and did Ctrl + G. After you do that, you can adjust how much of your picture you like on the mask by moving the top layer around. After you're satisfied, you can save it as a .png file somewhere and you're done.
This is a .png file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Have fun with it!

#1 Mom Label

I hope you enjoy this cute ribbon decoration/label. Since everything came in layers, it was somewhat easy to change colors and stuff. However, it wasn't so easy to decide what to do with each layer. I added patterns, colors and shadows to pretty much everything. I used font AmerType Md BT for the phrase.
I also warped the tails, so they didn't look too stiff.
This freebie is for personal use, .png file, 300 dpi, the main design has no shadows.
Have a great weekend visiting/reconnecting with your mom. I'm looking forward to getting a phone call from my missionary son, yea!
Patricia.

Wild @ ♥

Hey! I worked on this phrase for you today. I used font Aunt Bertha NF and mixed up upper and lower cases. I added the ampersand in AvantGarde BK. I played with them until it looks as if the & is hanging from the W. I made sure the letters are rasterized or I can't apply anything to them. I used the Magic Wand tool to 'grab' the letters in WilD, then I added a pattern (leopard) to them.
I added a silver style to the ampersand and then added a heart shape and put a stripes style on it.
And there you have it. This freebie is a .png file, 300 dpi, shadows are included.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Mom Mail

If you live close to your mom, it's not a big deal to get in touch with her. If you live far away (like me-thousands of miles) the phone is a great help. However, sometimes you just want to send that special something, or use the mail for any reason.
Today I give you an envelope. Yup, an envelope. I designed something for show, but that's not what you're getting. I give you the envelope in layers: frame, base, flap and flap shadow. For you to use in any personal use layout you need. With it, a couple of stamps that might embellish any design.

This is a .psd file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Use it well!
Patricia.

Mother Poem

Hi! I hope you had a great weekend. The few days we get of a real spring are just gorgeous.
I put together this design around the poem you see. I used fonts Aubrey and Apple Butter. I had a leaf shape, doubled it, placed the two the way you see them and just added the green style on them. Then added the bow. Nothing fancy, really.
The design is about 8" square, pretty big, I know. You can make it smaller if that's your desire.
This freebie for personal use is a 300 dpi, .png file, shadows on the bow only.
Go scrap! :)
Patricia.

Mother Border

This is a cute idea I had, that can be used as a border on a Mother's day layout. I thought of socks hanging on a line, so I ran with the idea.
I started with the line, added the letters in Elephant font, then added a different pattern on every single one. After that I duplicated each one, so I still have the original in the file, and rasterized the copy. Why? so I can apply a transform on each letter, so they look like the wind is moving them around.
Then I added the clothespin and duplicated it for each letter. I applied a shadow on the pins only, the rest you can add a shadow later, if you wish.
Then I did the "My BFF" in MV Boli font, I warped the text and added a style to it (denim).
And that's that.
This personal use freebie is about 3.5x11", 300 dpi, .png file, with some shadows.
Scrap it!
Patricia.

Happy Mother's Day

This is a cute frame I decided to use for Mother's day that's coming up quick.
Nothing fancy, it just looks great. The whole thing is one .png file, 300 dpi, with some shadows.
I used font Dragonwick, which I really like. A lot. :)
Always, personal use only. Have fun with it!

Spring Proverb

Isn't this time of year just a pleasure? Even though I nearly killed myself working on a bed last Saturday (granted, the raspberry bushes needed it), I utterly enjoy being outside, pulling on weeds, watering, clearing beds, planting and just getting busy. I wasn't made to be cooped up in a house. :)
So, today's freebie is a gorgeous page, curled, with grass, flower and bug elements.
I added the proverb, using Angelized and Alex Brush fonts. Then I applied a style on the letters.
This is a .png file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Have fun!
Patricia.

Summer QP

Hello! Today's freebie has two parts: one download is for the 12x12" size, the other one I made for the people that have 8.5x11" size pages.
In this offer, everything is in its own layer: the title (that you can customize with your own font and style), the leaves, the sky, water and sand. The polaroids are also split into two: the white frame and the black mask, that way you can 'glue' a picture on the black mask (Ctrl + G) and your page is done.
Each one is a .psd file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Have fun scrapping!
Patricia.

Jug (Pitcher) and Glass Template

Is the glass half empty of half full? I'm a glass half full kinda gal, what about you?
Today's freebie is a water pitcher and glass. This is a .psd file, where you'll find each element in its own layer: glass and two shadows, pitcher and two shadows, plus the inside of each: glass and pitcher.
As you can see in the picture, you can change the color of the inside of your glass elements, just click on the layer (glass inside or pitcher inside) and do Ctrl + U, play with the levers and find the shade of drink you'd like to have on your design.
This is a .psd file, 300 dpi, and the shadows are in their own layer.
Hope you like it!
Patricia.

Cupcake Template

Hello! I had this vector cupcake, so I worked on it to make it into a template. You get the cupcake in two layers: frosting and bottom, plus the "Happy Birthday" phrase and the candle (and its shadow), all in their own layers, so you can colorize and/or hide the elements you are not going to use on your layout.
This is a personal use freebie, .psd file, 300 dpi with some shadows.
Enjoy!

5 Flowers

Today I have five gorgeous flowers that can turn a regular layout into a great work of art. Just add ribbons, leaves and swirls and you have a masterpiece.

Machado

A tribute to Spanish poet Antonio Machado. I just used a clip art I had, and typed the poem. The Spanish is in Dancing Script font and the English portion was done in Apple Butter.
This is a .jpg file, about 4x11", 300 dpi,  no shadows.
Enjoy!

Beautiful Spring Border

I had this vector clip art that was begging to be used. I didn't do too much with it, except ignore the background. I duplicated the ladybug layer, so I could give it a shadow. The phrases are done in Scrap Cursive and Plantagenet Cherokee fonts.
This is about 5x12", .png file, no shadows.
Have a great weekend!
Patricia.

Spring Butterflies

I loved working on this page. I had originally a 12x12" paper, greyscale that I colorized purple. I added the butterfly brush and took out the paper to the left of the butterflies. I added a yellow style to the cuties, then added the phrase 'spring,' using font Poplar. I rasterized the type, then added a pattern to the word, then a bevel. The left side of the page, under the word is clear, so you can leave it blank (it will turn white when you print it) or you can add a contrasting paper, your choice.
It's still a 12x12" page, .png file, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Use it well!
Patricia.

Hawaii

I really like this phrase. I started out with something else (always) and ended up with this one. I saw a similar design done with butterflies and wondered how it was done, so I went in to PS and figured it out.
You first type the phrase, duplicate it (why not?), rasterize the copy. Open another layer and do your brushes, scatter them. If you don't have PS, just do each one in individual layers until you like the way they look on the letters. Then collect all the brushes and 'glue' them together (Ctrol + E). Apply the Magic Wand tool on the brushes (make sure you got the whole image), then click on the word layer, click Ctrol + X, and that would erase the brushes image from your word. Save the whole thing as a .psd, then save it as a .png. Open the .png file and use any style you want on it.
This is about 4x12", 300 dpi, .png file, no shadows. I used font Jeepney and a style with a gradient. Cool, huh?
Use it in your personal projects. Try to make another one just for you!
Patricia.

Two Corners

Hello there!
Today I'm giving away two corners that you can use as a page element, or make each one smaller, as a picture helper, your choice. One has a pink, glittery style and the other has a green, gem-like style applied over it. They're in the same .png file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Daisy Border

I have an absolute treat for you today. I'm extremely satisfied with my design. So much that I just might add some papers and an alphabet to make it complete. Stay tuned so you can get an update.
I put together different pictures of flowers, added the watering can, then added a different picture of flowers, to make it fuller. Some of the flowers have a shadow, so it can have the appearance of depth, but the border as a whole doesn't, so you can add the shadow however you like.
This is a 5x12" border, .png file, 300 dpi, some shadows.
I know you'll have good use for it!

Clear Frame with Yellow Elements

Hi! Hope you had a nice weekend.
I have for your consideration a frame that I turned clear. I added all the elements, mostly in yellow, and then added the goose. Maybe you'd wonder why? I thought, why not?
It's a .png file, 300 dpi, about 8x8" with some shadows (the frame doesn't have a shadow).
I don't consider it a cluster, maybe it is. What's your opinion? Let me know.
Enjoy!
Patricia.

Wood Frame and Flower

This is a cute frame I put together with elements from Trina Clark.
This design is about 8x8", .png file, 300 dpi , shadows on the flower, snail and butterfly only.
Have fun with it!

Spring Banner

I loved working on this project. Sometimes the gathering of elements is as much fun as making it. :)
I transformed a simple triangle shape into a banner. Each element has either a paper or a pattern applied to the shape. I got the twine from Scrappin Cop. The font is Parade.
This is a .png file, 5x12", 300 dpi, shadows only on the clothespin.
I hope it's useful!

Two Cool Tags

Hi! I made two very different tags, even though the paper background seems the same. The one with the curls came from a template from Delicious Scraps. The other one I made from a shape I had, covered it with the crumpled paper, colored it  purple and then added the curl. That was a process: you cut part of the circle, turn it around, add a shadow, add the silver background, so it looks like a peeling sticker.
If you'd like to know how to do it, here's a link to one tutorial: http://pshero.com/photoshop-tutorials/graphic-design/peeled-back-sticker-effect-ii. I didn't make the tag into a sticker and it's not grunge, but the steps are about right.
One tag is about 3" around and the other about 4x6" - 300 dpi - .png file - no shadows
Enjoy!

Kraft Shapes

I used a kraft paper and turned a bunch of shapes into kraft paper cutouts.
This is the paper, 12x12", .jpg file:
But I didn't stop there. While applying the paper on the shapes, I decided to make it into a style.
These are the shapes. One more thing I have to say about the shapes: you can get 4 designs out of the tile alone. I used fonts Copperplate and Cursif for the phrase.
But, as you can tell, the style has a shadow and thickness, because I applied some bevel to the kraft paper. So, if you'd like this style, I can have it for sale at $.25. Yes, just a quarter, not bad, huh?

BUY KRAFT STYLE (click below) the link will take you to Paypal. After payment you'll be redirected so you can get your style download.
Hope it works for you.
Patricia.
PS: if you'd rather not have the bevel, when you apply the style, right-click on your shape, choose 'Edit Layer Style' and click off 'Bevel.' You'll be left with just the kraft paper look.

Clipboard Template

This is just a clever idea to display a special picture. I keep using the same one of the raft in the middle of the ocean, it's just something that appeals to me, I don't even know where the place is. :)
So, with this freebie you get the base of the clipboard, the clip and the same picture frame I gave as a freebie before. Nothing fancy. I added the words just to give an idea, but you can do whatever. Since everything is in its own layer, you can turn things around, change sizes and stuff
This is a .psd file, so everything is in its own layer, 300 dpi, no shadows.
Have fun with it!

Cherries on Bow and Sticker

After a few days of a relaxing spring break vacay, I come back with this frame and cherry-inspired bow plus a cherry sticker that complements my last post, Cherry paper.
The frame is a 4x6" size, the sticker is about 2x2", all .png files, 300 dpi, no shadows on the frame.
Enjoy!
